NCPA Expert to Testify on Pharmacy Benefit Manager Abuses
At Senate Hearing Tomorrow
(Alexandria, Va.) – Arkansas pharmacist Mark Riley, Secretary-Treasurer of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) and Executive Vice President of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, will testify at a Senate Commerce Committee Hearing tomorrow entitled “Competition in the Health Care Marketplace.”
Riley’s testimony will focus on his expertise regarding the lack of transparency and accountability for pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs); the anti-competitive effects of the merger of CVS, the nation’s largest chain pharmacy, with Caremark, one of the largest PBMs; and their detrimental impact on patients and health plan sponsors.
